Alameda PowerUp For Learning makes it easy to help fund learning technologies for Alameda students and the community. You just designate an amount that is added on to your Alameda Power & Telecom electric bill each month. The funds are used solely for Alameda Unified School District Alameda PowerUp for Learning projects.

Energy Efficiency for the Schools

Alameda Power & Telecom (Alameda P&T) cares about the city's schools. It has provided energy efficiency rebates totaling $126,332 to help the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) complete energy efficiency retrofits to all school facilities, and these retrofits save $236,371 in energy costs per year. These add up to a total of a savings of $2.2 million in energy costs since 1995.

Speakers Available

Knowledgeable Alameda Power & Telecom representatives are available to discuss a wide variety of topics, from electric power to cable television to the Internet to why our community has its own electric and telecommunications services. Hazard Hamlet

This unique, interactive safety education tool is available from Alameda Power & Telecom. "Hazard Hamlet" teaches the basics of electricity and highlights the need for care near electrical equipment using familiar scenes and in various environments.

Subjects include the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity; conductors and insulators; electrical safety at work and play; and electrical emergencies.
